Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, Sheikh Rasheed, a member of the YSR Congress Party’s youth wing, was brutally hacked to death in the middle of a busy road in Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday night. The horrific attack, which occurred around 8:30 PM amidst moving traffic, was captured on camera.
The assailant, identified as Sheikh Jilani, attacked Rasheed with a machete, severing both of his hands before delivering a fatal blow to his neck. Eyewitnesses reported the gruesome nature of the assault, which has left the local community in shock.
District police chief Kanchi Srinivas Rao stated that preliminary investigations suggest the murder stemmed from a personal rivalry, ruling out any political motives. “This appears to be a result of personal enmity. There is no evidence to support any political motive behind this crime,” Rao said.
In response to the brutal killing, stringent prohibitory orders have been imposed throughout Vinukonda town, where the incident occurred. The police chief emphasized that any attempts to incite unrest or disturb the peace would be met with severe consequences. “We have enforced prohibitory orders to ensure peace and order in the town. Any attempt to disrupt public harmony will be dealt with strictly,” Rao assured.
The investigation into the case is ongoing, and further details are expected as the police continue to gather evidence and statements from witnesses.
