New Delhi, Oct.27: In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 13,451 new cases of Covid-19, an increase of 8.2% over the previous day’s total. According to figures issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday morning, the country’s overall tally has risen to 3,42,15,653.
Kerala leads the way with 7,163 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 1,201 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,090 cases, West Bengal with 806 cases, and Mizoram with 740 cases.
These five states account for 81.77 percent of all new Covid-19 cases, with Kerala alone accounting for 53.25 percent of all new cases.
In addition, 585 additional people have died from the virus in the last 24 hours across the country, bringing the total to 4,55,653. Kerala had the most casualties (482), followed by Maharashtra, which had 32 daily deaths.
In the meantime, India’s recovery rate has risen to 98.19 percent. In the last 24 hours, a total of 14,021 patients have been recovered, bringing the overall number of cases recovered to 3,35,97,339.
The overall number of active Covid-19 instances has decreased by 1,155 in the last 24 hours. India’s current caseload now stands at 1,62,661 cases, the lowest level in 242 days.
In terms of the country’s vaccination status, India has administered 55,89,124 doses in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses delivered to 1,03,53,25,577.
