Daltonganj, Mar 9: A total of 14 seats of different quotas are still vacant in the Medinirai Medical College Hospital (MMCH) Daltonganj.
There is a state quota of 82 seats in this college. Only 73 admissions have been registered in the first year of the MBBS course in this medical college. This has left 9 seats vacant.
Principal of MMCH Dr. Shailendra Kumar said, “Our 9 seats are vacant to date. 73 students have taken admission so far only.”
Against the 15 seats in the central quota, 11 have taken admission in the same course. 4 seats stand vacant.
As for the other two seats in the central nominee, it is filled up.
Dr Shailendra said two central nominees of Meghalaya have taken admission in this medical college.
Apart from this, one seat is for the disabled student and that too is to be filled.
The second counselling was due between March 5 and March 9 which could not be held. Sources said that there is some issue between the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) and the state health department.
Additional Chief Secretary (health) Arun Kumar Singh on being contacted said that he has no information about it.
Regarding the second counselling, the ACS health said that the concerned board will inform about it.
MMCH Principal Dr Shailendra declined to make any comment saying, “We look forward only to our entire 100 seats filled with the admissions.”
