New Delhi, Jan 10: The 14th round of senior highest military commander level (SHMCL) talks will take place on January 12 morning at the Chushul-Moldo meeting site.

Indian Army officials told that the Indian side is looking forward to a friendly dialogue to settle the balancing friction areas. The focus of the talks between the two neighbours will be on resolving outstanding concerns along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

According to Indian Army authorities, the Indian side is looking forward to a productive engagement to settle the balancing friction areas.

Notably on October 10, 2021, the 13th session of the India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting was held at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting site. Since May 2020, both nuclear-armed nations have been locked in a bitter border stalemate. To ease tensions at the LAC, both countries have held multiple rounds of diplomatic and military discussions. While both the countries have pulled back troops from several friction points in eastern Ladakh, the next round of talks will focus on the disengagement from the remaining friction areas.

In their virtual diplomatic talks held on November, both the countries agreed to hold the 14th round of military talks at an early date to achieve the objective of complete disengagement in remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh.
