15 Days On, No Signs Of 8 Trapped In Telangana Tunnel, Rescue Operations Intensify

Nagarkurnool: The rescue operation at the partially collapsed SLBC project tunnel in Telangana entered its 15th day on Saturday, with cadaver dogs identifying two potential locations where the missing individuals might be trapped. Rescue teams are actively removing silt from these identified spots, hoping for a breakthrough.

Rescue Efforts Continue Amid Grim Challenges

The eight trapped workers, including engineers and labourers, have been stuck inside the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel since February 22, when a portion of it collapsed. Despite continuous efforts by the NDRF, Indian Army, and Navy, no contact has been established with them so far.

To aid in the search, cadaver dogs from the Kerala police were deployed on Friday, trained to detect human presence even from a depth of 15 feet. Following their findings, rescue teams have intensified their silt and debris removal efforts.

Minister To Review Rescue Operations

Telangana Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who has been monitoring the situation, is expected to visit the tunnel site on Saturday to review progress and hold discussions with officials.

The rescue operation remains challenging, with water seepage and slush slowing down excavation. Despite the obstacles, specialist teams continue their relentless efforts, hoping to reach the trapped workers soon.
