Jamshedpur, April 7: A 23-year-old youth Tabiz Ahmed was killed while trying to save cattle at Nargadih under Chandil thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district, about 25 kms away from here on Friday evening.
The mishap victim who was a resident of Noor Colony in Azadnagar in Mango met his tragic end while riding back home from Chandil along with one of his friends.
According to police, while the victim was negotiating the NH-33 by riding his bike, a herd of bovines suddenly came on the road.
As the victim was riding at moderately high speed, he tried to save his bike from hitting the cattle, but in the process he lost control over the two-wheeler and skidded off the road.
The victim’s friend who was sitting pillion was also flung apart and was too injured.
A patrolling party which was around the mishap scene, rescued both the youths and rushed them to the MGM medical college hospital where the doctors on emergency duty declared Tabiz as brought dead.
The injured whose identity is yet to be established has been admitted in the medical college hospital where his condition is described as serious.
The police said that neither of the mishap victims had put on helmet and had they wore the helmets, it would not have turned out to be a fatal mishap.
