Jamshedpur, July 1: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rains at a few places today, Saturday.
Weather department officials said that the monsoon trough has become weak and this will result in restricted rainfall activity over the state.
Now warning has been issued in its sector-wise forecast today.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Lat. 29.4°N/ Long. 70.7°E, Bikaner, Narnaul, Firozpur and Lat. 32.5°N/ Long. 72.5°E.
Weathermen said conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into remaining parts of the country (i.e. remaining parts of Rajasthan and
Haryana and Punjab) during next two days.
The east-west trough was today passing through northwest Rajasthan, east Rajasthan, low pressure area over central parts of north Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and thence eastwards towards Nagaland and extending upto 1.5 km above the mean sea level.
Jharkhand was still facing rainfall deficit of around 45 per cent. Weathermen said that they were expecting normal rainfall activity in the month of July, the second monsoon month.
