1st Yoga foundation course for MBBS students concludes at SNMMCH Dhanbad

Dhanbad, June 21: The ten-day-long first Yoga foundation course for MBBS students introduced by the National Medical Commission (NMC) concluded at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad on the occasion of International Yoga Day (June 21) in an impressive function on the campus today.

SNMMCH Principal Dr Jyoti Ranjan Prasad, while highly appreciating the interest shown by the students especially 1st MBBS professionals in the new course that the NMC has introduced for them from 2022, said that its positive result would surface soon.

 

 

Besides the closing ceremony of the 10-day Yoga course (which started on June 12 as per the directive of NMC) SNMMCH simultaneously celebrated International Yoga Day in which besides students, principal, faculty members Dr Krishna Kumari (physiology), Dr Ganesh Kumar ( admission in-charge), Dr Makradhwaj Prasad (anatomy), Dr Sunil Kumar Verma ( biochemistry) Dr Leena Singh, Dr Phani Bhushan, Dr Rajkumar Prasad, Dr S Gupta, Dr PCL Das, Dr Veenit Tigga (FMT) took part in the programme.

Today’s closing ceremony as well as the function of International yoga Day started at 5.30 am and continued till 7 am. Principal Dr Jyotiranj Prasad on the occasion felicitated the instructor/ trainers of Patanjali Puker Kumar, Kumar Jaya and Tapas for successfully completing the Yoga course of NMC to students in the scheduled 10 days. He presented Shawl and memento to instructors and teachers of the college who actively executed the programme.

 

 

“Though we have completed a 10-day 1st  foundation course ( Yoga) introduced by NMC in medical colleges,   we should continue this even after special classes as it would always be helpful for a healthy life “, said the principal.

The coordinator of the programme committee Dr Krishna Kumari, while shedding the light on the new foundation course as well as International Yoga Day, said that 100%  attendance of students on all 10 days of special classes which are held at 5.30 am daily showed that 1st MBBS professionals were keenly interested and serious with the course.
