Daltonganj, Sept 19: 25 disabled received tricycles, wheelchairs and hearing aids as per their needs in the ongoing Sewa Pakhwara of the BJP in Daltonganj on Monday.
Sewa Pakhwara, beginning from September 17, is observed to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will conclude on October 2.
“BJP has a slew of proactive roles and programmes for the people and its MPs, MLAs are on the job,” said a senior leader of the party.
Palamu BJP MP V D Ram was the chief guest on this occasion. MLAs Alok Chourasia, Shashibhushan Mehta, Pushpa Devi and senior party leaders also attended the distribution ceremony.
“14 tricycles, 6 wheelchairs and 5 hearing aids were distributed among the disabled. The highlight of this ceremony was that the district administration’s social welfare office provided 15 articles while the MP arranged 10 articles for the disabled on his own,” said senior BJP leader Sheo Kumar Mishra.
“Our MP V D Ram was passionately looking for the tricycles either here or in Ranchi or Jamshedpur market but it was not available,” he added.
Mishra said the tricycles came from Kolkata and it was due to the painstaking efforts of MP V D Ram.
