Ranchi, March 6: A retired high court judge N.N.Tiwary will administrate 52 yr old Vivekanand Vidya Mandir from March 7.
The situation is the fall out of a long internal dispute among members of Sri Ramkrishna Seva Sangh, a society that runs the school since 1970.
The dispute was first observed in 1984 after K. Krishnamurthy, who was the founder secretary of the society that runs the school, was kicked out of the school by a section of society members.
After that, the dispute continued. Most of the time the reason behind the dispute remained allegations of financial irregularities against secretaries and executive committee members and over 50 complaints and FIR arose.
The prominent figures whose names surfaced during the dispute included R.D.Bhattacharya, advocate Mahesh Tiwari, advocate Abhay Kumar Mishra, P.N.Roy, Vivek Roy, J.C.Mukherjee, Kashi Mukherjee, Sukrit Bhattacharya, Pralay Kumar Sinha besides others. The matter related to the school is still pending before the Jharkhand High Court.
Issue of the school was also raised in the Jharkhand assembly by a JMM legislator. In all the disputes, the reason is the use of money spent for the development of school buildings and the purchase of assets.
Presently there are as many as 4000 students and around 250 teaching non-teaching staff in the school which stands 27th in India and seventh in Jharkhand in ranking.
Secretary of Tupudana based R.K.Mission TB Sanatorium and vice president of Bihar Jharkhand Ramkrishna Vivekanand Bhav Prachar Parishad Swami Satsanganand Maharaj said the school is under the indirect control of Ramakrishna Math and he has presented his bio-data before the high court to become its administrator.
“To improve the condition of the school, I have given my bio-data before the court to become an administrator. Now when the administrator appointed by the court will take charge and a new committee will be constituted I will be there as administrator,” Maharaj said.
The present secretary of the society Mishra, whom the court has asked to give charge of the society as well as school and all other assignments related therewith to the administrator including details of accounts being maintained by the society and the school in all banks, welcomed the appointment of administrator saying this is for the first time a retired high court judge will work as an administrator and this is good for the school.
Mishra, however, said how come the priests have shown interest to become administration is a matter to probe.
“We earlier made four attempts to take charge but he refused. It needs to probe how he got agreed and submitted his bio-data in the court,” he said.
