5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Bay of Bengal

New Delhi: A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Bay of Bengal in the early hours of Tuesday, as per data from the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

The tremor was recorded at 6:10 AM IST at a depth of 91 kilometers.

The NCS confirmed the seismic activity in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating:

“Earthquake of Magnitude: 5.1, Date: 25/02/2025, Time: 06:10:25 IST, Lat: 19.52 N, Long: 88.55 E, Depth: 91 Km, Location: Bay of Bengal.”

There have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage from the tremor. Authorities are monitoring the situation, and further updates will be provided as more information emerges.
