Ranchi: Five banquet halls running in the city, including the Manya Palace operated in Morhabadi, Ranchi, have got a big relief from the Jharkhand High Court. The High Court has banned for two weeks from taking any action against the said banquet hall. Hearing was held in the High Court on the petition filed by the Ranchi Municipal Corporation against the order to seal these banquet halls. During the hearing, the court has fixed August 4 for detailed hearing as the reply of Ranchi Municipal Corporation was not on record. On being informed by the plaintiffs about not doing any kind of commercial work in the banquet hall, the court extended the period of order to keep the proceedings of Ranchi Municipal Corporation suspended. In this regard, the operators of other banquet halls including Manya Palace have approached the High Court.
Ranchi Municipal Corporation had issued a notice on June 22.
In the petition filed by the applicants, it has been said that the Ranchi Municipal Corporation has issued a notice on June 22, ordering the sealing of five other banquet halls including Manya Palace, but they have not received that notice. Apart from this, the Municipal Corporation has not followed the procedures of Banquet Hall Rule-2013 in issuing the notice.
During the last hearing, Ranchi Municipal Corporation’s advocate Prashant Kumar Singh had told the court that the notice of the corporation was published in the newspaper and the applicants were given full opportunity to make corrections in the online application for license of the banquet hall, but he did not improve the same. did not do. In this case, the High Court has already passed an order, according to which it is mandatory to have a map for getting a license, but the map was not given along with the application on behalf of the applicants. Therefore, action is being taken by the corporation to seal the banquet hall. The court had ordered to stay the order of the Municipal Corporation on the ground that the applicants had given undertaking not to do any business activity there.
