Ranchi, Oct 18: Around 500 youths today reached Kolkata to meet Congress’ Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari, who along with two other legislators of his party Rajesh Kacchap and Naman Vixel Kongari, landed in trouble after Rs 49 lakh cash was recovered from his possession in West Bengal and he was not to leave the metro city as a result of it.
The youths garlanded Ansari and raised slogans in his favour. They termed him innocent and expressed their willingness to take him back to Jharkhand without any delay. They informed the MLAs about the rising resentment in society due to his absence from the state.
The youth were of the opinion that while some politicians in the states are earning in crores of crores every day by smuggling coal, MLAs like Ansari, who always work for the society cutting across caste, creed and religion, was implicated in a false case for having Rs 48 lakh only in his possession.
Ansari confirmed the development saying he was surprised to see his supporters and explained the whole matter in detail. He expressed his inability to remain present in Jharkhand saying the matter involving him is in the court and it was expected from him to respect the court’s direction to stay in Kolkata. He assured his early return.
