5400 rape cases in 32 months: BJP urges governor to put a check on rising crimes in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Sept.12: Writing a letter to Jharkhand governor Ramesh Bias, the main opposition party of the state BJP has demanded strict action against the rising criminal incidents, harassment of women and forced religious conversion in Jharkhand .

Citing reasons behind all these incidents as the appeasement policy of the state government, BJP state president and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash attracted the attention of the governor towards news of crimes against women, rape of minors, horrific and painful incidents like killing minors by burning petrol, conversions through healing meetings (Changain Sabha) and allurement.

The BJP state president, in his letter, mentioned that in the last 32 months, more than 5400 incidents of rape have taken place in the state, in which girls and women from the tribal and Dalit families have got affected.

With the formation of the government, the present state government has openly started the game of appeasement politics, many examples of which are in public domain, the BJP president has alleged.

Mentioning how the state government adopted the policy of appeasement, the BJP president Prakash in his letter mentioned example of a Namaz room allotment at the Jharkhand Assembly premises, sending Bangladesh residents in buses during the Corona period, being lenient while taking action against the members of Tablighi Jamat, not taking action against the particular community who misbehaved with the Corona Warriors, mob lynching in Simdega and Hazaribagh

The BJP president Prakash has shared some newspaper news giving details of incident with date in his letter for kind perusal of the governor.

Among the reports include the story of attempt made to convert Hindus into Christianity on August 11 by Changai Sabha, pressure on villagers to adopt Islam in Barkagaon on August 18, burning of sleeping girl on August 24 at Dumka.

The list also includes the incident of self immolation attempt by a women due to lack of justice by a women on September 1 at Bokaro SP Housing Complex, religious conversion of a girl by a Bangladesh resident  on September 2,  Pathalgadi related murder on September 3 at Khunti, exposure of Love Jihan incident at Lohardaga on September 5 and again on September 6 at Khunti.

The BJP president mentioned the news item suggesting how a DSP in Dumka did not file chargesheet in case of love Jihad and thus benefitted accused belonging to a particular community  report related to entrance of Muslim youths with firearms in a school in Ormanjhi published on September 11, convestion of 12 families into Christianity on September 12  and incident of kdnapping and rape of a minor girl from Garhwa in Lohardaga reported on September 12.

The BJP president, in his letter, also mentioned the incident of killing of a woman inspector by a car by cow smugglers and organized violence in Main Road of Jharkhand capital. He has mentioned how the state government is not taking any action despite the direction of Jharkhand High Court.
