Ranchi, Sept.8: As many as 26 BJP workers sustained injuries in the incident of the lathi-charge which took place in the afternoon on Wednesday when the party was on way to the assembly to lay siege to the temple of democracy to protest against the formal allotment of a room for offering Namaz.
The list of injured includes BJP Women Front President Arti Kujur, BJP OBC front president Amardeep Yadav, BJP rural front office-bearer Mahaveer Singh, a woman worker Neelam Choudhary besides 22 others.
Former vice-chairman of the state minority commission and a senior BJP leader Gurvider Singh Sethi informed this saying out of 26, 6 are serious while remaining others are out of danger. “Two are undergoing treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) while the remaining others are at Paras Hospital in Dhurwa,” Sethi, who was taking care of the injured, said.
Explaining the nature of injuries, Sethi said: “Yadav sustained head injuries while youth from Bokaro sustained an injury at his chest. Some have bone injuries.”
Sethi also shared the list comprising workers of different fronts of the party from different parts of the state.
Later in the evening, BJP state president Deepak Prakash visited Paras Hospital to take care of the injured.
