61 PG students of RIMS, MGMMCH to be sent on three-month deputation in 22 districts

Dhanbad, Oct 5: For the first time 61 postgraduate (PG) students of  Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) Ranchi and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) Jamshedpur are set to be sent on a three-month mandatory deputation in 22 districts under the District Residency Programme.

Special Secretary (Health) Alok Trivedi has issued a notification and the list of PG students of both institutions in this regard. As per the notification, the selected PG students have to join on deputation from October 9.

Dr SK Singh, Director of the Medical Education wing of the state health department, said that on the directive of the National Medical Commission (NMC), a District Residency Programme has been launched so that during their study PG students can get experience of working in the field.

“This is not new. During our time we were also sent in a block for gaining experience in rural areas. This three-month deputation would of course help the students to gain experience,” said Dr Singh.

Sources said the health department would manage the boarding arrangement for students at their deployment place.

In Jharkhand, postgraduate (PG) course is conducted only at RIMS Ranchi and MGMMCH Jamshedpur. So students of only these two institutions have been placed on three-month deputation.

As per the notification issued by the health department, 53 PG third-semester students of RIMS Ranchi and eight PG fourth-semester students of  MGMMCH Jamshedpur have been placed in a three-month Residential Rotation.

The RIMS PG students who  have been  placed on three months District Residency Programme are- Dr Anchal Kujur, Dr Azad Kumar Dash, Dr Mukesh Kumar Mehta, Dr Priya Kumari, Dr Gambhir,  Dr Harishikesh Chandan (all at Sahebgabj), Dr Nikhil D Kamarthi, Dr Vikash Kumar, Dr Nisha Pandey, Dr Aditi Kashyap (all at Gumla)

Dr Rishav Narayan , Dr Abhishek Kumar, Dr Aman Ranjan , (all at Godda), Dr Nilanjan Mal,  Dr Shaswat Mayank, Dr Vishnu Raj, Dr Jainesh Toppo, (all at Palamu), Dr Puja Dey, Dr Shiwani Kumari, Dr Dr Neha Kiran, Dr  Amritha Sai,  Dr Tripti Anshu (all at Chatra), Dr Khushboo Kumari , Dr Vimal Kumar, Dr Helen Morish Monika Tudu (all at Simdega)

Dr Jyotsna Singh, Dr Ajvijit Saha, Dr Rupam Kumari (all at Garhwa), Dr Amita Kiran Tigga, Dr Nikhil Kumar, Dr Aishwarya Bhushan (all at Saraikela), Dr Gaurav Shukla, Dr Deepali, Dr Alina Kujur, Dr Saurav Kumar, (all at Chaibasa), Dr Parijat Mishra, Dr Tennifer Gagrai, Dr Md Taushif Alam  (all at Latehar), Dr Paridhi Naman, Dr Rajendra Prasad,  Dr Sanjay Mandal (all at Koderma).

The MGMMCH  students who will be sent to districts under the programme are- Dr Punam Jankiraman S, Dr Ranjan Kumar Mehta, Dr Sana Salika (all at Khunti), Dr NaseebaThasneem, Dr Mamta Kumari, Dr Abuzar  Haidree (all at Jamtara), Dr Sourabh Kumar  Sharma, Dr Ranjit Murmu (all at Koderma),
