27 land in ‘sensitization camp’ for not wearing mask at public places in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, Aug 18:  At least 27 persons on Wednesday were put in a daylong  ‘sensitization camp’ for roaming without masks at busy public places in coal city under the special drive of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to check the possible third wave of Corona.Senior nodal officer of Mask- up Campaign ADM ( law and order)  Kumar Tarachand said that the flying squad first launched awareness for people about the use of masks and maintaining social distancing in crowded Bank more, Purana Bazar, Bhuli, railway station, Saraidhela, Big Bazar, Shakti Mandir, Seel Gate, Hirapur.

“Despite the awareness drive, 27 people were caught without a mask and violating social distancing, and brought to Jharkhand Armed Police ( JAP-3) Govindpur based Sensitization Camp by bus,  They were kept there till 4 pm and showed a film about the impact of without mask at public places”, said ADM, law and order, Kumar Tarachandra.

Doctors checked up their health and conducted Covid-19 test of all 27 people at the camp.  Refreshment was also arranged. At 4 PM all 27 people were dropped at their respective places.

On the directive of deputy commissioner (DC) cum District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) chairman Sandeep Singh, the district administration has launched ‘ Mask- Up- Campaign from  August 16 to check the possible third wave of Corona pandemic.

The DDM has set up two flying squads to check without mask people at busy public places and violation of social distancing.  A ‘ Sensitization Camp’ has also been set up at JAP-3  Govindpur, around 16 km away from the district headquarters. Those who are caught without masks at public places between 8 am to 12 pm are caught and admitted at the Sensitization Camp till 4 PM.

The DC said for checking the third wave of Corona, the government of India and the state government have directed all people to use masks and maintain social distancing. “After getting information about the violation of guidelines the DDMA has launched a drive and set up a flying squad to create awareness among people,” the DC said.
Dhanbad is the first district in the state that has launched the drive in wake of a possible third wave of Corona.
