Ranchi, May 11: The Supreme Court today directed the state government to inform it regarding the preparation being done for those new candidates whose names appeared in the revised merit list of the sixth JPSC examination published after correction.
With this direction, the apex court deferred a hearing in the matter till July 20.
The case arose after a division bench of Jharkhand High Court comprising Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad upheld the decision of the single bench quashing the merit list of the 6th JPSC examination after it realized that the merit list was prepared by adding the marks of qualifying papers contrary to the set norms.
After the division bench upheld the judgment, the JPSC published a revised list correcting the error. In this development, some of the candidates already appointed lost their jobs while some new candidates got job opportunities.
Those who lost their jobs knocked on the door of the apex court for justice saying it was not their fault that their names appeared on the list of qualified students and they got jobs. The apex court earlier directed to maintain the status quo.
