61 boxes of illegal foreign liquor worth Rs 5L going to Bihar seized in Ramgarh

Ramgarh, Jan. 3: A large consignment of foreign liquor being taken from Ranchi to Bihar has been confiscated by the Ramgarh police.  This liquor was seized from a pick-up vehicle from Kuju OP area of ??NH/33 Ranchi- Patna Highway in Ramgarh district.

Ramgarh SDPO Kishore Rajak said in a press conference that the police had received secret information that a pickup van laden with illegal foreign liquor was going from the highway towards Bihar.  By laying a trap, the police caught the consignment of liquor after checking the vehicle on the highway of Kuju area.

According to the police, 960 bottles of liquor have been recovered in a total of 61 boxes, the cost of which is being estimated to be around Rs 5 lakh.  Taking advantage of the darkness, the driver managed to escape.  In this case, the police have taken further action by registering a case in Kuju OP.
