Dhanbad, Aug 17: In a major operation, Deoghar police on Tuesday arrested eight cyber criminals from areas of three different police stations of the district and recovered cash of Rs 1.90 lakhs and 21 mobile phones.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) (headquarters) Mangal Singh Jamuda and DSP cyber Neha Bala jointly told media persons at Deoghar cyber police station on Tuesday that besides cash amount and mobile phones the joint team also recovered 27 SIM cards, six ATMs and two cheque books from the arrested criminals.
The arrested cyber criminals were identified as Arif Ansari (24), Pappu Das (24), Ajay Kumar Das ( 19) Mahfuj Ansari ( 30), Noor Md (26), Rahul Yadav (18), Ranjit Yadav (23) and Babloo Kumar ( (18).
They said that cash of Rs 1.90 lakh was recovered from the possession of Noor Md, resident of Tithiyabank village under Margomunda police station.
“After getting a tip-off about a syndicate of cyber criminals special teams were formed and arrested them from villages of four different police stations- Bermoka police station, Madhupur police station, Margomunda police station, Mohanpur police station of the district,” they said.
The police officials said the search for other members of the syndicate is on.
