Dhanbad, Jan 27: Within 24 hours of the launching of the petrol subsidy scheme, 820 beneficiaries in Dhanbad got the benefit on Thursday.
District Supply Officer (DSO) Bhogendra Thakur on Thursday evening said that the department has so far received 11,500 applications of beneficiaries for the petrol subsidy scheme of the state government in which the transport department has approved 9,500 applications.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren had launched a petrol subsidy scheme at Dumka yesterday (Wednesday) in which ration cardholder bike owners of the state would get Rs 25 subsidy on petrol.
“Till today evening ( Thursday) cash benefit has been transferred in bank accounts of 820 beneficiaries while the process is on to transfer the amount in bank accounts of remaining 9500 beneficiaries whose applications transport department has approved,” said DSO Bhogendra Thakur.
DSO said interested beneficiaries must have a ration card of state Jharkhand State Food Safety Systems (NAFSA) or National Food Safety Act (NFSA) to get the benefit of (petro on subsidy) scheme. The names of entire family members should be mentioned on the card. Moreover, the bike should be registered in the name of the applicant in Jharkhand and his mobile and Aadhar Card should be linked with his bank account.
Bhogendra Thakur allayed the apprehension of beneficiaries that their ration card would be seized after taking benefit of the petrol subsidy scheme. “ Since two-wheelers are not considered as income in getting NFSA and JSFSS ration cards, all beneficiaries (cardholders) can get the benefit of it.
DSO said all red, yellow and green card holders having two-wheelers can get a maximum of 10 litres of petrol per month and a subsidy of Rs 25 per litre would be sent to their bank account Through DBT.
“Registration for the scheme is continued and those beneficiaries who have not applied so far can do it through CM-SUPPORT App or http:/jsfss.jharkhand.gov.in website,” he said.
