83 cases of IT Act are being registered in Jharkhand every month, since 2016 till now 5396 cases

Ranchi: Every month 83 cases of IT Act are being registered in Jharkhand. In the last 65 months i.e. from 2016 to May 2021, 5396 cases related to IT Act have been registered in 24 districts including Cyber ??Police Station of the state. In which the highest number of 1383 cases have been registered in Ranchi district, while the least number of cases have been reported in Simdega and Khunti districts.

Know where and how many cases were registered

From the year 2016 to the month of May 2021, 5396 cases have been registered. Out of which 1383 in Ranchi, 37 in Simdega, 77 in Gumla, 62 in Lohardaga, 38 in Khunti, 329 in Jamshedpur, 109 in Chaibasa, 173 in Seraikela, 132 in Palamu, 92 in Latehar, 101 in Garhwa, 173 in Bokaro, Dhanbad 427 in Dumka, 83 in Dumka, 46 in Sahibganj, 77 in Pakur, 398 in Jamtara, 96 in Godda, 370 in Deoghar, 386 in Hazaribagh, 323 in Giridih, 78 in Koderma, 164 in Ramgarh, 102 in Chatra and Cyber ??Thana 135 cases have been registered.

Do not file a case under section 66A of the IT Act

The Union Home Ministry has issued orders to the states and union territories asking all police stations in their jurisdiction not to register cases under the repealed section 66A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the states and union territories to comply with the order issued by the Supreme Court on March 24, 2015, to repeal Section 66A of the IT Act. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also been asked to sensitize law enforcement agencies.
