Daltonganj, Dec 5: Looting of goats to raise money for buying arms and ammunition, never heard in Jharkhand so far. But the Gumla police have taken the lid off this bizarre set of crimes.

SP Gumla Ehtesham Waquarib told lagatar 24.com on Sunday evening that 83 goats were looted on the intervening night of Saturday/ Sunday.

Raidih police station conducted a midnight vehicle checking in which around 00.45 night they intercepted a pick up van. The van had not only the looted goats. It had dubious men too with the goats.

The alert police team nabbed the two most dubious men Arjun Yadav and Dhaneshwar Minz who turned out to be once upon a time PLFI members.

“The police team nabbed 11 more taking the total number of the arrests to 13. The two confessed to police that they were planning to raise an outfit. The sale proceeds of the goats would have given them enough money to buy arms and ammunition,” said Waquarib.

Police recovered 83 goats, a pick up van, one desi katta, two rounds of fire, 7 cell phones, ammunition pouch, two sets of combat uniform.

They had a plan to fleece people of the Chhattisgarh as well since this state falls in the contiguity of Gumla, said the SP Gumla.
