Mumbai, Nov 26: The makers of ‘83’ have finally unveiled the first official teaser of the film on Friday. The film is helmed by filmmaker Kabir Khan and revolves around India’s historical 1983 Cricket World Cup win. The teaser shows the World Cup winning ball where Madan Lal bowled to Vivian Richards and Kapil Dev took the catch.
The Film will hit the big screens on December 24, 2021, right on Christmas eve. Deepika announced, “The story behind India’s greatest victory! ‘83’ RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DECEMBER, 2021! In Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam! Trailer out on 30th November, 2021. #ThisIs83#teaser.”
The makers of the film will be launching the official trailer of ‘83’ on November 30.
Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Ranveer wrote, “The greatest Story. The greatest Glory. 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Teaser out now. Trailer out on 30th Nov. #ThisIs83.”

Earlier, 83 was slated to release in April this year, but was pushed forward due to the coronavirus pandemic. Apart from Deepika, Ranveer, Harrdy, and Jatin, the movie also stars Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiva, Ammy Vrik, Pankaj Tripathi among others. Deepika will be seen playing the role of Romi, Kapil Dev’s wife.
The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam and will have a worldwide theatrical release on December 24.
