Ranchi, Nov 26: BJP unit in Jharkhand’s capital hit the road with their ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Yatra’ even after the pre-scheduled program of marching from Shaheed Chowk to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar statue at Jharkhand High Court was cancelled by the district administration at the last moment.
The rally was conducted by shortening the route of the march and the 72nd Constitution Day was celebrated by offering garlands to the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Reacting strongly to the schedule-cancellation, BJP Scheduled Caste Front State President cum Chandankiyari MLA, Amar Kumar Bauri, said that the government has cancelled the ‘Yatra’ at the last moment with a well-planned conspiracy.
“This shows how much reverence the government of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress has for the Constitution and Babasaheb, while many religious journeys have been taking place through this route,” Bauri said.
MP Sanjay Seth on the occasion said that the credit for being the largest democratic country goes to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and it is a proud moment for everyone.
“Though the government in power has cancelled the march, we all respect the decision and solution has been made to shorten the route,” Seth said.
Blaming the current government of Jharkhand, MLA CP Singh said that entire India is celebrating the Constitution Day but the Jharkhand government is least bothered about it.
“Though there are provisions made in the Constitution for the upliftment of the tribal community but today also the tribal community of the state is lagging behind because of the ignoring nature of the current government,” Singh said.
The first ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Yatra’ was organised in Surendranagar, Gujarat in 2010, to mark 60 years of the Constitution by the then CM Narendra Modi.
The Constituent Assembly of India had adopted the Constitution on this day in 1949, and the Narendra Modi government decided in 2015 to observe this day annually as the Constitution Day.
