Tata Steel Jharia organises Fun Sports for female employees

Dhanbad, May 31: Tata Steel, Jharia organised a one day Fun Sports for its female employees at Digwadih stadium on Tuesday which was first of its kind in the region to promote sports as a way of life.

The official said a total of 62 participants competed in different individual and team games like cricket ball throw, shooting the football, relay race, ball dribbling, 400 metre walking race and others. Maximum participation was from the Medical Services wing of the organisation.

Besides female employees, officer’s wives also took part in the event. All the winners’ participants who emerged 1st, 2nd and 3rd runners up were felicitated with prizes.

Sunita Rajoria was the chief guest and spouses of other senior officers’ of Jharia also witnessed the event. The event was organised under employee connect programme under diversity and inclusion initiative.

Addressing the participants on the occasion, Sunita Rajoria appreciated the event and advised to conduct more such fun sessions to keep the workforce, mainly females engaged and motivated.

Ian Richards Sandys, senior manager HRBP Jamadoba Colliery & JCPP, Jharia Division, Tata Steel, Mahendra Singh, manager HRBP, programme were present on the occasion.
