Ramgarh, June 1: A few hotel owners in Barhi in Hazaribagh district are being persecuted under the guise of Cobra Battalion 203.
According to reports, the eateries receive orders for food parcels via phone calls from a number claiming to be of the Cobra battalion. When they contact the same number after completing the order, they are either disconnected or treated rudely.
A few days ago, a similar incident occurred at the Bhavani Hotel on Patna Road in Hazaribagh.
Apart from that, a call came in from a new number at the New Shyam Hotel, and an order for food for 20 persons was placed. The hotel operator realized it was a fraud call when the same number was phoned after preparation of food as the person on the other end of the line urged him to transfer money.
The operator immediately alerted Pankaj Kumar Yadav, Cobra Vahini 203’s Sub Inspector cum PRO. The SI took the situation seriously and advised the hotel operator not to transfer the money.
Pankaj further requested that if someone tries to defraud or demand money in the name of Cobra, they should immediately notify the Barhi police department so that legal action can be taken against them.
