Ex-CM Raghubar Das inspects Dhanbad’s under-construction Press club building

Dhanbad, June 3: Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday inspected the under-construction building of ‘Press Club’ near the collectorate and directed to complete it on time after removing the shortcomings.

Das, who was on a two-day tour of Dhanbad for briefing people about eight years of achievement of Narendra Modi led NDA’s central government, highly praised the Press Club building and commented that it is spacious and huge than the Press Club at Ranchi.

“My government had tried to start a pension scheme for journalists of the state but was not be able to implement it. However, hope the plan would be implemented now,” he said.

Raghubar Das had laid the foundation stone for Dhanbad’s Press Club building in 2018 at the cost of Rs 8.90 lakh. The three-storey building of the Press Club has 28 rooms one conference hall restaurant and a parking place on the campus.

Raghubar Das along with former mayor Chandrashekhar Agrawal and BJP district vice-president Sanjay Jha reached the spot in the afternoon and took note of the construction progress status from the construction manager Kamal Singh.

 

 

Dhanbad Press Club president Ashok Kumar, vice president Sharad Chandra, secretary Chandan Pal, Vidyut Verma, former president Sanjiv Jha, who brought the project in his regime, and other office-bearers received the former chief minister and apprised him about the development in the construction of the building.

Press Club president Ashok Sharma said that the construction company authority informed the former chief minister that the building will be completed and duly handed over to Press Club in three months.
