Ramgarh, June 13: Maa Chhinnamastika Seva Samiti has honoured Jharkhand’s Sadanand Kumar for winning gold and attaining a new national record in 100 meters race in the Khelo India Youth Games held in Panchkula. He broke the national record of 10.65 seconds by completing the race in 10.63 seconds.
Kumar has been selected for the upcoming World Championship due to his stellar performance in Panchkula. He will leave for Kolkata to join camp.
Committee President Rajeev Jaiswal has congratulated him for the victory. He wished him good luck for the upcoming World Championship.
“It is a matter of pride for someone who has been through a lot in the past. Even after coming out of a remote area, he has made his parents proud. He has made Jharkhand and the whole country proud. It is a proud moment that Sadanand will participate in the World Championship. I salute his hard work and passion. I hope he wins gold medal in the upcoming world championship,” Jaiswal said.
A resident of Chandaul village, Sadanand lost his father in his childhood. There are three members in his family including his mother and a younger sister.
