Ranchi, June 13: The Governor of Jharkhand Ramesh Bais on Monday summoned DGP Niraj Sinha, ADG (Operation) Sanjay Latkar and Ranchi SSP SK Jha at the Raj Bhavan to seek reports about the status of the probe into Friday violence in Ranchi.

The Raj Bhavan Secretariat informed that the Governor took stock of the law and order situation in Jharkhand. The law and order of capital turned bad on June 10 when a frenzied strong mob attacked police and few religious places on the Main road during the course of protest against the alleged uncivil remarks by BJP’s Nupur Sharma against the prophet.

Notably, the Governor had condemned the violence. He also spoke to the Chief Minister Hemant Soren and DGP to take strong actions against people involved in inciting violence.
