New Delhi, June 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu on Thursday, before filing her nomination papers for the impending election to the nation’s top constitutional post.
Droupadi Murmu is the presidential candidate for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. According to Modi, all facets of Indian society have praised her selection for the presidency.
“Her understanding of grassroots problems and vision for India’s development is outstanding,” the PM wrote in a tweet.

Earlier, he also tweeted right after Murmu’s candidature was announced by the BJP national president JP Nadda and said the the former Jharkhand governor will make a ‘great President’, having dedicated her life to serving society and the downtrodden.
Early in the day, Murmu travelled from Bhubaneswar to the nation’s capital. In front of the top party officials, she is scheduled to submit her nomination paperwork on Friday. Her nomination papers are being processed at the home of parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi, according to a PTI report quoting sources.
