Ranchi, June 23: A commercial court in Ranchi today granted relief to film producer Karan Johar, who was being sued for plagiarism by a city resident.

Jug Jug Jeeyo, a movie made by his business Dharma Production, was cleared of all plagiarism accusations by a commercial court, and Vishal Singh, who had accused Johar of plagiarism and wanted a stop on the film’s release, was not successful in getting the release of the movie postponed. On Wednesday, the court watched the movie at Johar’s request and held off on making a decision.

The court took this action after Johar asked for it through a petition. Johar conducted the action because he believed it was the greatest approach to demonstrate his sincerity and disprove Singh’s position regarding the Jug Jug Jeeyo narrative. Singh should not be present for the viewing of the movie for legal reasons, according to Johar, who also asked the court to investigate the veracity of Singh’s claim. The judge concurred, and the case ended properly in Johar’s favour.
