FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 set for official draw

New Delhi, June 23: The formal draw for the forthcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in India in 2022 will be seen on Friday.

India is automatically chosen and assigned to Group A because they are the hosts. During the actual draw, which will be broadcast live on Sports18 , fifteen additional teams will be split into four groups.

The games will take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, and the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

On October 11, the event begins in Bhubaneswar and Goa. The Kalinga Stadium will host all of India’s round-robin matches, including their opening match on the first day of the competition.

The schedule also showed that the 24 group stage matches, which will be split between the three host states of Odisha, Goa, and Maharashtra, will end on October 18.

At the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, the quarterfinal round of matches will take place on October 21 and 22, while the semifinals will follow on October 26. The third-place game will take played four days before the final at the DY Patil Stadium.

The 6th Torneo Female Football Tournament is due to begin on Wednesday in the Gradisca d’lsonzo stadium, Italy, with the opening match between the India U17 women’s squad and the tournament’s hosts, Italy.

The competition will act as part of its preparation for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which is scheduled to begin on October 11, 2022, following their training camp in Jamshedpur.

India 2022 is building on the success of the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017, which broke the record for becoming FIFA’s most watched youth World Cup ever. Through its Kick Off The Dream Football Carnivals, two editions of which were hosted in Odisha, this youth competition has impacted the lives of 2,500 kids.
