New Delhi, July 5: In the fifth rescheduled Test match, England defeated India by seven wickets on Tuesday at Edgbaston in Birmingham. In the fourth innings, the hosts were able to defeat a 378-run goal with unbroken 269-run partnership between Joe Root and Jonny Bairtsow for the fourth wicket.

In the final innings of a Test, this is their highest-scoring chase. On Tuesday, the hosts began their innings with a score of 259 for 3, and they easily won the match with the help of Root and Bairstow’s destruction of the Indian bowlers. After India’s second innings was abandoned for 245 points shortly after midday on Day 4, England was given a target of 378 to win the fifth Test match.
