New Delhi, July 6: The cost of domestic 14.2 kilogramme LPG cylinders increased by Rs 50 with effect from Wednesday, July 6. A domestic cylinder weighing 5 kg will now cost Rs 18 more. Since May, this is the first hile in the prices of domestic LPG.
Domestic LPG cylinder prices increased twice in May, once by Rs 50 on May 7 and once more by Rs 3.50 on May 19.
The cost of one cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 1,053 while it is Rs 1,052.50 in Mumbai.
A domestic LPG cylinder would now cost Rs. 1,079 and Rs. 1,068.50 in Kolkata and Chennai, respectively.
In the meantime, on Wednesday, the cost of 19 kg commercial cylinders was reduced by Rs 8.50.
The Opposition parties have criticised the Centre for increasing the cost of LPG cylinders for both household and commercial use for a while now. Congress last week slammed the government over high LPG costs, claiming that two Indias have been created: one where a select few are getting richer and the other where the average person cannot afford even one residential LPG cylinder refill.
So far in 2022, the cost of residential non-subsidized LPG cylinders has climbed by Rs 153.
