New Delhi, July 6: In comparison to the previous recruitment process, the Indian Air Force has received the most applications through the new military recruitment programme, Agnipath.

A four-year tour of duty is permitted by Agnipath, following which 25% of soldiers would be integrated into the military based on their performance.

“Compared to 6,31,528 applications in the past, which was the highest in any recruitment cycle, this time 7,49,899 applications have been received,” the Indian Air Force tweeted.

The online registration process conducted by #IAF towards #AgnipathRecruitmentScheme has been completed.

Age requirements for Agniveers are 17 and a half to 21 years old.

Military hopefuls who missed out on two years of recruitment due to the COVID-19 pandemic now have a single chance to apply for Agnipath. After protests erupted, the administration raised the scheme’s upper age limit in June from 21 to 23 years.

Concerns about what would happen to them after their four years of service have been voiced by some Agnipath applicants. In response, the administration has made a number of announcements and provided advice on what they can do after their tour of duty is complete in an effort to soothe their concerns.
