Dhanbad, July 13: Three trains including the Dhanbad –Swarnarekha Express of the Dhanbad rail division of East Central Railway (ECR) have been cancelled due to the blockade of the rail track between the Pradhankhanta-Sindri rail section by villagers.

PK Mishra, senior public relations officer of the Dhanbad rail division, said that the trains that have been cancelled today are 13301 Dhanbad- Tata Swarnarekha Express and 03324 and 03323 up and down Dhanbad-Sindri and Sindri Dhanbad passenger.

The irate villagers of Chhatakuli village blocked the rail track after the under-construction rail underpass caved in between the Pradhankhant- Sindri rail section of Dhanbad rail division on Tuesday night (at around 8.45 pm) in which four labourers were buried alive.

Since the angry villagers also closed the Grand Chord rail line at Pradhankhant railway station from the night of (9.30 pm) Tuesday ECR  had announced the diversion of 23 mail and express trains through mainline via Patna or Gaya.

However, after the clearance of the blockade in the early morning of Wednesday (at 5.22 am), the ECR withdrew the diversion order. PK Mishra said the first train 11447 Jammu Tawi-Shaktipunj express departed from Dhanbad for Howrah at 5.38 am.
