New Delhi, July 14: The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has named an 18-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies, which will be played at the historic Lord’s before the second ODI against England.
The tweet that announced the news on Thursday afternoon also stated that KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav’s selection is contingent on their physical health.
Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli have been rested for the tour, as was anticipated. Because of a minor groyne injury he sustained during the final T20I against England and because Bumrah has been playing non-stop cricket, Kohli and Bumrah have both received a respite. The BCCI has stated that they will play a significant role in the Asia Cup.
Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Umran Malik have also not been included in the squad.
India squad: Rohit Sharma (C), I Kishan, KL Rahul*, Suryakumar Yadav, D Hooda, S Iyer, D Karthik, R Pant, H Pandya, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, R Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav*, B Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh
*Inclusion of KL Rahul & Kuldeep Yadav is subject to fitness.
