Dhanbad: IIT ISM ties up with Tata Memorial Centre for cashless cancer treatment

Dhanbad, July 27: IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad has tied up with Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) for cashless cancer treatment facilities of its employees,  ex-employees and their dependents.

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is a national comprehensive centre for cancer research and treatment. The institution is government of India’s department of atomic energy  grant aided.

After  the tie up, employees and  their dependents would  be  able get cancer treatment at the hospitals running under TMC across the country which include Tata Memorial Hospital, TMH Mumbai, Advanced Centre for Treatment Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Navi Mumbai and many others.

Prof  Rajni Singh, Dean and media branding of IIT ISM said that under the tie up, TMC will ensure cashless cancer treatment of all the eligible medical beneficiaries of the institute in any of the nine flagship hospitals running under it in various parts of the country as per medical urgency.

She said IIT ISM at present has over 28 empanelled hospitals across the country including Christian Medical College and Hospital, (CMCH) Vellore; Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Bangalore; PSRI Hospital and Apollo Hospitals in New Delhi; Medanta, The Medicity, Gurugram; AMRI Group of Hospitals, Peerless Hospital and BM Birla Hearth Research Centre, Kolkata; Medanta, Medica and Orchid Medical Centre in Ranchi; The Mission Hospital and Health World at Durgapur.

Besides them, the institution has also tied up with  locally hospitals include, Asian Dwarkadas Jalan Super speciality Hospital, Asharfi Hospital, Central Hospital, Patliputra Nursing Home  and other.

“In case of medical emergency patients are referred for treatment at any of these empanelled hospital within Dhanbad as per report of on duty Medical Officer /Chief Medical Officer but in case of referral for planned admission cases the patient need to be appear before medical board which after examination refers the patients to any of the empanelled hospitals”, she said.
