Daltonganj, July 29: All medical officers in charge of the community health centres in Palamu have been directed by Civil Surgeon Dr Anil Kumar to press in their Sahiyas to locate cases of fever with rashes and other symptoms among the residents in their respective areas of duty amid the Monkeypox scare across the country.

Civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said “I have directed my medical officers in charge of all the community health centres to deploy Sahiyas for locating cases of fever with rashes immediately. This is our active surveillance for detection of any case of fever with rashes or other eruptions on the skin.”

The medical officers in charge have been asked to send day-to-day reports in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Palamu district health society has come out with posters in Hindi where signs and symptoms of Monkeypox and its prevention have been detailed in a very easy and common local parlance.

Sources said right from DC Palamu Anjaneyulu Dodde to DDC Megha Bhardwaj to Civil Surgeon Dr Anil Kumar all look well geared up to face the issue of Monkeypox which is more talked about but very few understand that a precaution at home or any public place can reduce its fear.

A 45-year-old village woman at village Pathra under the Chainpur police station is down with pustules over the last more than two weeks. Her pustules are on her left hand only said the medical officer in charge of the community health centre at Chainpur Dr Chaman Kumar Bhardwaj.

Dr Rajinder Kumar, the medical officer in charge of the community health centre at Bishrampur said, “We have 274 Sahiyas for 40 panchayats who have been asked to fan out in the population to locate or hear any case of fever and rashes.”

The medical officer in charge of the community health centre at Panki, Dr Zubair Ahmad said, “We have 210 Sahiyas for 24 panchayats who have been told to discover the case of fever and rashes.”

Similarly, for 42 panchayats in Hussainabad, a fleet of 272 Sahiyas have been entrusted with the task, according to Dr Ratnesh Kumar who is the medical officer in charge of the sub-divisional hospital Hussainabad.

At the Daltonganj-based Medinirai Medical College Hospital, an alert has been sounded for symptoms of fever and rashes.

Civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said, “This is our acute and active surveillance all not to miss any case as there is enough hype about the monkeypox where residents’ support and cooperation are most solicited.”
