Mumbai, Aug 1: Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray will meet the family of detained party MP Sanjay Raut at their home on Monday. After being questioned for several hours over the redevelopment of a chawl in Mumbai, Raut was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate after midnight.
Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena MP who has been detained, has left the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office and is currently being transported to Mumbai’s JJ Hospital for a medical examination. When Raut exited the ED, he waved to the reporters’ cameras.
In response to party MP Sanjay Raut’s detention at midnight in connection with the redevelopment of a chawl in the city, the Shiv Sena has organised widespread rallies throughout Mumbai.
Notably, Sanjay Raut’s home was searched by Enforcement Directorate agents for the most of Sunday after he resisted being summoned twice for questioning. Raut, said that the Centre was pursuing him in an effort to undermine Uddhav Thackeray’s faction.
