Daltonganj, Aug 10: Palamu has till date received 1,27,000 national flags, according to DC Anjaneyulu Dodde.
Palamu is to distribute 2,25,000 national flags, all free under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
Newsmen covering DC’s press briefing were also given the flags. These Tirangas have come to Palamu from the state government. A Rehla-based industry Grasim is also offering Tirangas here.
The DC asked the officials to ensure that the floating population in the streets be also given Tiranga free. He said people who eke out their living by the side of the road be given the flags for free.
Dodde suggested stalls should be set up at places in the town where there is a rush of people for the free distribution of Tirangas.
Referring to the Prevention of Insults to the National Honour Act 1971, Dodde reminded people that the national flags should be accorded the highest honour by everyone and under no circumstances there should be any folly which is a disgrace to the National Honour.
He said there are some DOs and DON’Ts for the National Honour and asked everyone to hoist the flag with love and care and to avoid mistakes in its unfurling. National Honour at night has been permitted by the union government.
