Jamshedpur, Aug 13: South Eastern Railway along with other zones of Indian Railways is celebrating the 75 years of Indian Independence in a befitting manner.

South Eastern Railway today kicked off the event, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to encourage the citizens to hoist the National Flag at their residential premises from August 13 to 15.

The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the national flag.

To commemorate the occasion, national flags have been distributed to the employees for hoisting the flag at their residential buildings.

During the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, SER will also observe ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ tomorrow (August 14) to highlight the tragedy of the partition and the agony of the people who suffered during the partition.

In this connection, photo exhibitions will be organised at different stations of the South Eastern Railway.

The photo exhibitions will be organised at Adra, Bokaro, Bankura and Burnpur stations of the Adra division. Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Sini and Tatanagar stations of the Chakradharpur division. Hatia, Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Bano, Pokla and Govindpur stations of Ranchi division and  Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhogpur, Shalimar, Tamluk, Digha and Ghatshila stations of Kharagpur division.
