Deoghar, Aug 13: Although the Deoghar Airport has been inaugurated, some works here are still pending. It is facing issues related to landing and taking off, especially, in low visibility situations.
Due to low visibility, on some occasions, flights are either being called back to origination or diverted elsewhere. Notably, due to heavy rain, a flight from Delhi was postponed on Thursday evening.
The district administration has taken the issue seriously. Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri called for a meeting with the airport’s officials and subordinate officers of the district administration on the matter on Friday.
He took account of works being done even after the inauguration and to cope with the low visibility problem. The removal of seven permanent obstacles from the adjacent area of the Mohanpur block was also raised during the meeting.
On this, the DC instructed the liable officer to accelerate the official procedure. He also directed the Block Development Officer to move notices to related locals to get removed the obstacles soon.
The appointment of the chief protocol officer has also been realised during the meeting.
The DC instructed the officers of district administration and Airport authority to get the pending works done at the war level maintaining mutual coordination.
The Deoghar airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 12.
