New Delhi, Aug 22: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will now be governed by the AIFF administration, which is headed by the acting Secretary General. The Supreme Court on Monday dissolved the Committee of Administrators (CoA), the group it formed last year to oversee the AIFF.

A one-week delay was also provided to the election procedure by the court. Because of proposed modifications to the nomination process, the Center had suggested delaying the AIFF elections, which were currently set for August 28, by one week.

According to the court, the member states (35 + 1 associate) will make up the voter list for the AIFF elections, and the Returning Officer will remain in place.

On August 3, the Supreme Court issued a ruling mandating the holding of AIFF elections on August 28 under the auspices of the CoA, with 36 illustrious players being granted voting rights. However, the FIFA, which opposed the electoral college being made up of individual members, suspended the AIFF on August 15.

The AIFF had suggested to the Supreme Court that players should not be included on the voters’ list, only representatives of state/UT member associations of the AIFF.
