New Delhi, Aug 24: The Aam Aadmi Party today took on the Narendra Modi-led union government, accusing it of seeking to oust the Delhi government “by hook or crook”. According to the party, the BJP is employing government investigating agencies against its leaders. In a press conference today, five senior AAP leaders criticised the BJP for allegedly trying to entice AAP MLAs with money and threats. In response, the AAP has been accused of attempting to “deviate and deflect” attention away from the allegation of corruption in the liquor policy, which led to the recent CBI raid on Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi.
Sanjay Singh, the national spokesperson for AAP and a Rajya Sabha member, promised to “reveal” how the PM Modi-led administration is utilising federal agencies to overthrow the administration in the nation’s capital.
“Efforts to break the MLAs of Delhi have begun,” he said. He also added that the BJP tried a ‘Shinde’ on Manish Sisodia but the attempt failed.
“They say take our offer of Rs 20 crore or face CBI cases like Sisodia,” he further said.
Ajay Dutt, Sanjeev Jha, Somnath Bharati, and Kuldeep Kumar, according to Singh, have received approaches from BJP leaders with whom they have ‘good relations.’
Arvind Kejriwal, AAP’s national convenor, said shortly after the press conference that the party’s political affairs committee will meet today at 4 pm to tackle the “CBI/ED” issue.
