Sidhu Moose Wala murder: Punjab police arrest sixth shooter with two aides

Chandigarh, Sept 10: Deepak Mundi, the fugitive gunman, was apprehended by Punjab Police at the West Bengal-Nepal border, marking a significant milestone in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder investigation. During the raid, his two colleagues Kapil Pandit and Rajinder were also taken into custody.

“In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police, in a joint operation with central agencies and Delhi Police, have arrested Deepak alias Mundi, absconding shooter of Sidhu Moose Wala, with two associates. Major victory in war against drugs and gangsters on directions of CM Bhagwant Mann,” tweeted Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

“Deepak, Kapil Pandit and Rajinder have been arrested today by AGTF team at the West Bengal – Nepal border in the culmination of intelligence-based operation. Deepak was the shooter in Bolero module, Kapil Pandit and Rajinder provided logistical support including weapons and hideouts,” he added.

Few days after the Punjab government cancelled the singer-security politician’s cover, unidentified gunmen ambushed Moose Wala in the Mansa hamlet of Jawarharke and fired at the Thar he was travelling in.
According to his autopsy report, Moose Wala was shot 19 times during the incident and passed away within 15 minutes of being hit. He was cremated in his hometown of Mansa’s Moosa village.
