Jamshedpur, Sept 12:  IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of rain at most places across Jharkhand today.

The Met Centre also predicted a drop in maximum reading by two to three degree Celsius in the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, the low pressure which weakened into depression resulted in a good spell of rain in several parts of the state during the past 24 hours.

Jamshedpur and its adjoining areas witnessed over 40 mm of rain since midnight. The forecast suggested rain later in the day too.

The depression was gradually moving towards Chhatisgarh.

The Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of heavy rain in northern Jharkhand during the next two days.

Rain data suggested a 27 per cent deficit till now. Against normal rainfall of 890 mm Jharkhand has so far received 653 mm, resulting in a 27 per cent deficit.

Weathermen said rainfall during the next couple of days was expected to drag down the deficit.
