Ranchi, Sept 27: The Jharkhand High Court today directed Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri to serve demolition notice to the owner of 9 high-rise buildings around Deoghar airport and report the development to the court.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice S N Prasad gave the direction while hearing a contempt petition filed by Godda MP Nishikant Dubey.

Dubey filed the contempt petition through his lawyer Diwakar Upadhyay after the district administration in Deoghar failed to ensure proper operation of the airport though it had submitted before the high court during the hearing of a PIL in 2013 that it will be needed to get the airport operational.

Dubey knocked the court saying the district administration so far even failed to demolish the nine high-rise buildings which should not exist around the airport. Apart from this, he said a night land facility is yet to be started at the airport.
