J&K: Forces gun down one LeT linked terrorist in Shopian

Shopian, Oct 2: One terrorist linked with LeT was killed in an encounter that took place between security personnel and terrorists on Sunday in Baskuchan area of Shopian. He was identified as Naseer Ahmad Bhat of Nowpora Baskuchan linked with LeT terror outfit.

Earlier, on Friday, two local terrorists associated with banned terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were killed after an encounter in Baramulla.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police received information about the presence of terrorists in Yedipora village of Pattan district of Baramulla district. Police, army and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) launched a joint search operation in the area.

During the search operation, when the joint search group approached the suspected location, the terrorists in hiding fired indiscriminately at the security forces, effectively retaliating and leading to an encounter.

Police reported that two local terrorists associated with banned terrorist outfit JeM were killed. They have been identified as Yawar Shafi Bhati who lives in Kalampora Pulwama and Aamir Hussain Bhati who lives in Veshro Shopian.
